Visiting Hour
Production Date: May 2007
Directed by: Dudley Thompson
Set in a fictitious hospital during the late 1980's, ‘Visiting Hour’ is a sweet and sour mixture of emotions laced with a heavy serving of humour. Based loosely around the visitors the patients receive the sharply observed characters are all larger than life and often hilariously funny. The four short plays are all from the pen of highly successful playwright Richard Harris, whose other plays, include ‘Outside Edge’ and the highly successful ‘Stepping Out’.
The four interlinked plays are altogether a very different and humorous look at those precious moments when patients received news of the outside world from their nearest and dearest. Rehearsals have been frequently interrupted by hysterical laughter, so I hope you will enjoy tonight's show as much as we have during the last eight weeks. After all 'Laughter is the Best Medicine'.
